44’s wife is on the cover of People. And who cares if Michelle Obama shows her upper arms?!!! Why is the media focusing on her upper arms? Who can answer that? Why does Kathie Gifford boast of showing her upper arms “to support the Fist Lady?” What has happened to this country? Has everyone lost their senses? Rome is burning, and we are thinking of Mrs. 44’s upper arms? Her husband is announcing that he is about to take a huge cutting whack at both Medicare and Medicaid, meanwhile, he is shoveling money to the US corporations – who can make sense of this??? OMG And a $1.50 tax on every gallon of gas sold? OMG 44 lived in Chicago – never went to a gas station for himself it seems. He is hitting us down here in the trenches!!! Does 44 remember who voted for him? OMG Everyone, pace yourself and I’ll do the same. Adios

It’s March 2009! Amazing how time flies! So who had jumped in on the taxes for this year? OMG I have an M.B.A and numbers are my friends, but I would NEVER do my own taxes. NEVER! When can Washington DC make it easy –or even EASIER for us to file taxes? So I gathered all my papers and called HR Block –amazing – “totally booked all day Saturday & Sunday!” OMG Next stop: WalMart. My husband asked the young man if he had any openings for the day - -good news: come at 10am! So we brought all our papers with all our gift-that-keeps-on-giving carryovers to him at the desk table at the front of WalMart. If any of you ‘enjoy’ carryovers, like mine from the ‘dot-con’ days of ‘loss,’ you understand why I call them the gift that keeps on giving – OMG! So we completed our taxes. Now all we have to do is wait for the reviewers to complete the cross-check end-to-end. “Maybe Monday” and of course the young gentleman “only works weekends.” So we successfully had a “professional” work the many forms for us BUT we still wait while the subject matter experts plow through the weekend work it seems. Everyone, pace yourself and I’ll do the same. Adios

So Jennifer Anniston held her own in front of the Oscar audience with Brad and Angelina in the front row – go girl! You rock! Jennifer is so happy with her young fella John Mayer. She just turned 40 but she says ‘he makes me laugh’ – if that isn’t the truth! Even if he is 7 years her junior! We all love a guy who can make us laugh – in fact many of us married that guy who relieved the day to day corporate monotony with hysterical laughter at the end of the day! I did! LOL But can’t we give Jennifer a break – it’s been over 5 years since Brad fell for the exotic odd Angelina while still married to Jen – way not cool. But Brad admitted he did Jen wrong by being unfaithful-it is what it is. So Jen, enjoy being 40! And no need to rush into marriage –look at Goldie Hawn-she is happy for sure! And no marriage certificate for sure holds that relationship together – go Goldie! Everyone, pace yourself & I will do same! Adios

Fat Tuesday is here!
Enjoy wearing those beads around the office! LOL Few know the meaning but the concept of FUN is there – no worries – be happy! LOL
So Prom time is coming our way.
Who else is being asked by the High Scholl PTA to donate gently used or new prom dresses?????????? OMG
Of course there are girls that are in need, but the PTA hitting the corporations in the school district to make the GUILT apparent is beyond belief. So of course we all will pull out a gown to ‘donate’ as the feel good factor for community awareness. Amazing just amazing – it never ends. We just got over the food drive for Thanksgiving and then again on Christmas for the poor in the area and now it’s Prom Dress Donation time. Oh, and don’t forget the school candle sales, gift wrap sales, magazine sales, and the Girl Scout Cookies! Everyone, pace yourself & I will do same! Adios

Happy Monday! It is YOUR day – make sure to use it! Unfortunately the stimulus news is hugely depressing. And the Governors are in DC to talk 44’s ears off regarding what each state really needs. I suspect the Republican Governors will continue to pushback due to attached strings for the stimulus funding and the Michigan Governor asking for their share – LOL The ebb and flow of politics! Keep your sense of humor! And what would George Washington think today? Few kids today are aware that February 22 was George Washington’s Birthday. We have melded the need for ‘Monday holidays’ into masking history it seems. More kids think about Mardi Gras at this time of year! But they don’t have a clue about the translated words of ‘Fat Tuesday’ leading into Ash Wednesday on Febuary 25 – few know that date’s significance as well I’ll bet. Call it progress. Everyone, pace yourself & I will do same! Adios

Buzzing about what each state will do with its share of the stimulus money! Very creative ideas! EX. : Green dog parks in California! Texas golf course for Frisbees in Austin Texas! But the most creative so far is yet again Texas: it seems the Governor’s Mansion was hit by a vandal and burned to the ground June 8 last year. So the estimates to repair are in the range of $27 Million – yes! Governor Rick Perry’s wife is all about private fund raising but that moves very slowly. So yesterday we heard from the Texas Finance Committee Chair Steve Ogden, a great example of the need for term limits LOL
He suggested we get the money from the approximately $16 BILLION that is destined for Texas! Can you see the jobs created??!! Wow! All I can see is a carefully selected architect – now underway but he needs to be paid! plus a handful of ultra high priced master renovation experts. Is this really what 44 wants the stimulus to be used for? Frisbee golf courses, green dog parks, and fire renovation? Maybe I just do not get it. The stimulus still smells like payback from 44 and botox-billionare-Pelosi. But what do I know? Everyone, pace yourself & I will do the same. Adios

A doctor guide! Very interesting! Zagat guides will now partner with WellPoint for a review of doctors! Today members of the insurance company WellPoint can view reviews as postings by other members.
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/16/business/media/16zagat.html?_r=1&scp=1&sq=zagat&st=cse
The Zagat-WellPoint venture was launched in California, Connecticut and North Carolina. We all recognize the name Blue Cross of California, a unit of WellPoint. Not all Blue Cross Blue Shield are WellPoint but all can access the Zagat reviews. The Zagat reviews are not yet available for New York’s Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield.
As a sidebar, no surprise: some doctors have complained about a review site named RateMDs.com that evidently has some non-patient postings about doctors – a fact that cannot be prevented on a public website such as RateMDs.com which supposedly has postings from ex-spouses or competitors allegedly.
For Zagat, a threshold of 10 reviews of a doctor will be required for posting, and the reviews will be screened for at least abusive language. Times are changing! Zagat sells 650,00 copies of its New York restaurant guide. What great thought leadership to have physician reviews in partnership with the proven track record of Zagat! Happy Monday to all! The weather is California is tough! Closed freeways! Even 50 miles of I-5 north of LA were shut down - wow!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29220403
That stretch of highway in the hills north of LA seems to attract poor highway conditions. I struggled to keep up with the U-Haul just 30 feet ahead of me less than a year ago. I remember the zero visibility due to the dry fields on each side I5. The dry dirt created a dirt storm resulting in zero visibility. I gripped the steering wheel LOL but it was a recipe for disaster. None thankfully when I drove through there but the conditions were right as they were for the sleet and snow yesterday. And more rain to come – storm clouds extend out into the ocean for hundreds of miles. No relief any time soon. I totally loved living in Silicon Valley before the ‘dot-con’ I worked for slipped rapidly to stock watch then de-listing as so many other software stocks did. California is so beautiful with flowers everywhere, but the weather can be unforgiving. I remember thinking how odd it was after living in Manhattan to be in SIlicon Valley and to look to the Pacific Ocean for my weather ahead! LOL Yes, I want my ashes spread in Carmel for sure! It was totally a vacation to walk along the sand in Carmel with hubby and dawg. I can hear the surf now! LOL It made the 70+ hour work week bearable for sure! At least until the incompetent Controller would call me on my always-ON cell phone with yet another irrelevant question just to see if I’d answer the phone when she called on a Sunday afternoon. OMG The smart money is that she and the other senior leadership of the dot-con stole enough with performance bonuses to be comfy for life. Bet she’s messing up someone else’s life these days! But not mine! LOL Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same. Adios

UPDATE: 44 and his wife flew our United States government Air Force One plus the huge entourage required for travel from Washington DC to O’Hare in Chicago for a long weekend in Chicago featuring a Valentine’s evening dinner at their favorite restaurant in Chicago.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/02/14/obamas-long-weekend-begin_n_166973.html
While the press is playing up that they are ‘rooted’ in Chicago, can anyone else consider the expense of flying Air Force One plus the entire security detail and Presidential entourage to Chicago for a weekend for a meal?
Refresh my memory, wasn’t it 44 just a few months ago, who could not get to Washington DC soon enough? And had to spend government – TAXPAYER – money to stay at the Hay Adams Hotel? And now he uses the presidential perks to fly to Chicago for meal? Where is this going to end!? This will be a long 4 years if he plans to fly to Chicago for meals on every special occasion.
While the diners at Table-52 Restaurant were in awe of the Presidential entourage, how about considering the air flights halted due to Air Force One in the airspace? How many loved ones missed connections due to the Air Force One Valentine fly-in? With the Presidential motorcade blocking off streets, how many loved ones were kept away or delayed due to his desire to fly in for a meal?
Ya think 44 even thought of these downstream consequences of his desire for a meal?! NO!!!!!!!!!! Why? Because he still thinks he belongs to Chicago. He has no insider guidance of what is right and what is not right. He remains clueless as to what plays in Chicago is soooo not what will play in Washington DC. I am saddened again of 44 and his wife’s obvious self-centeredness. Not to say the disappointment around the Beltway that the 44’s chose to jet away due to the apparent lack of desire to learn the ways of their home for the next 4 years to include dining in DC. It is just another 44 disappointment to me. Hope every one had a super Valentine’s weekend. Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same. Adios

In South Carolina today for Valentine’s Day, you can turn in your gun for roses! Yes! LOL A hand gun is worth a $100 gift card and a rifle or a shotgun is worth $50 – too funnie! A free rose plus an electronics store gift card!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29195216/?GT1=43001
Amazing just amazing. I’ll look tomorrow to learn how popular this is! Early returns show over 75 guns in the first hours today! LOL
The retail stores supposedly will get $20 less than was spent last year for Valentine’s Day. So the recession does affect Valentine’s Day! LOL No surprise!
Godiva mall shops are selling single chocolate dipped strawberries over the gorgeous ‘ballotin’ or heart-shaped box of chocolates. Of course you can purchase Godiva cookies as a notch down purchase for her! LOL Just do not forget the day! On a totally personal note to conclude the day, I received the most beautiful bouquet of red roses ever and the single most poetic card ever from my hubby - totally an ‘early’ surprise yesterday after an extremely hectic work day. I will treasure this day for sure. Enjoy YOUR Valentine’s Day!
