Tax Time! One more time for the Silicon Valley carryover loss!

It’s March 2009!  Amazing how time flies!  So who had jumped in on the taxes for this year?  OMG I have an M.B.A and numbers are my friends, but I would NEVER do my own taxes. NEVER!  When can Washington DC make it easy –or even EASIER for us to file taxes?  So I gathered all my papers and called HR Block –amazing – “totally booked all day Saturday & Sunday!” OMG  Next stop:  WalMart.  My husband asked the young man if he had any openings for the day - -good news: come at 10am!  So we brought all our papers with all our gift-that-keeps-on-giving carryovers to him at the desk table at the front of WalMart.  If any of you ‘enjoy’ carryovers, like mine from the ‘dot-con’ days of ‘loss,’ you understand why I call them the gift that keeps on giving – OMG! So we completed our taxes.  Now all we have to do is wait for the reviewers to complete the cross-check end-to-end.  “Maybe Monday” and of course the young gentleman “only works weekends.”  So we successfully had a “professional” work the many forms for us BUT we still wait while the subject matter experts plow through the weekend work it seems.  Everyone, pace yourself and I’ll do the same.  Adios

We’ll spend! Halt payroll tax deducts for 2 months!

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Even if you are without a significant other today, ya gotta smile and rejoice in a day to celebrate love for one another!  I’ve been giggling over the Fox and Friends Saturday morning show… These are the co-hosts: Clayton Morris, Alisyn Camerota, Dave Briggs and the weather guy Rick Reichmuth.  Over the weeks I know they genuinely laugh at each other’s humor!  It is a refreshing show!  I look forward to them keeping me company over my leisurely morning coffee on the weekends!  Great chemistry! Go Fox!  So today they are chattering about odd Valentine’s Day experiences – too funnie!  Call up your mom and dad or grandmother and tell them you love them sincerely.  Remember, a parent forever loves his / her child not matter what forever!  LOL

And on to Capitol Hill – are you as disgusted as I am?  What is this “reaching across the aisle” rhetoric?  How about EMPTY RHETORIC!  Again, why do the legislators struggle with the concept of putting money into our pockets?  It is so simple:  halt the payroll tax deductions from our paychecks and WE WILL SPEND!  It is not magic.  Maybe Capitol Hill has only the skill of writing a check – ya think? Maybe they need guidance in backoffice accounting mechanics to make that happen?  Just do it!  Halt the payroll tax deductions!  This stimulus is a joke.  It is NOT and never was destined for the common guy in the trench like you and me.  It is a PAYBACK for the years that 44’s supporters did not get what they wanted.

Anyone else astounded by the unbridled ecstatic glee in the eyes of the billionaire Pelosi??  Disgusting just disgusting.  You think botox’d Pelosi of the Tahari silk suits understands living paycheck to paycheck?  No!!!!  Ask Pelosi what a gallon of milk costs?  Ask Pelosi what sliced sandwich cheese costs?  You know the answer: clueless.  She is galaxies away from what we do every week on our trip to the grocery.

Very few if any of those Capitol Hill legislators understand our constant never ending “How much is my check this time?  So, then, can I get the new sewing machine in this check?  Oh… then, in 2 weeks maybe?”  We have to watch the fluctuation price of gas too – note: up 20 cents in the past 2 weeks!  44, are you listening?  We trade off $40 gas for a weekend ride as a mini escape for food and school supplies.  We manage on the level of less than $100 dollars “discretionary income” in a month!!!!!!!

Please give us that 2 month tax freedom!!!!!!!!  We will spend if you give us a larger check!..Do this and it will happen.  So do a mental re-set and enjoy YOUR Valentine’s Day!  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios.

Tax Freedom for Two Months! We’ll spend for sure!

Great news:  more news coverage for the TAX FREEDOM stimulus!!!  That is, to halt the payroll tax deductions from our meager pay checks with the totally predicted result that we will SPEND!!!  Former Governor Huckebee is talking about it!  Go Huck!  And so is Glenn Beck!  There is sanity out there it seems!  Of course, no attention from 44 since it is not 44’s plan.  So many egos in Washington DC!  44 continues to speak of his “shovel ready” stimulus plans.  So what’s that mean really?  ‘Shovel’ meaning ‘construction’?  Construction plans result in draws that have a lag time of perhaps 12 to 24 months to put actual money out there - - that is, into the wallet of the construction worker  - even with taxes.  OMG  How difficult is it really to connect the dots that a larger paycheck would immediately result in consumer spending?!!  Ya think the marble buildings on Capitol Hill decay the brains of the legislators?  OMG  Why does Capitol Hill and 44 continue to look at projects such as a new lawn for the Jefferson Memorial plus ‘green’ parks for dogs in California?  Remarkably, the only mention by 44 was at the Town Hall in Fort Myers  and all he said was “we are looking at giving you your payroll tax back.”  KISS  Keep it simple sillie!  Just halt the tax deduct!  No need for paperwork to pay it back to us in yet another check issued by the government.  If my check is larger, I will spend.  Statistics report that we are all living paycheck to paycheck – increase the check, it will be spent.  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios

“Cars and Kitchens for all” says 44! plus gas in every tank!

Obama made a hit in the Town Hall in Fort Myers Florida today most remarkably with Mrs. Henrietta Hughes.  So Henrietta spoke into the microphone delivering a teary-eyed plea in broken grammar:  “I have an urgent need, unemployment and homelessness, a very small vehicle for my family and I to live in. We need urgent. And the housing authority has two years’ waiting lists, and we need something more than the vehicle and the parks to go to. We need our own kitchen and our own bathroom. Please help!”  44’s reply: “Ms. Hughes, well, we’re going to do everything we can to help you, but there are a lot of people like you. And we’re going to do everything we can, all right? But the — I’ll have my staff talk to you after this — after the town hall, all right?”  Money mouth

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/02/10/AR2009021001418_5.html

So the smart money says Henrietta will be on Oprah within the week, plus Oprah will buy her a vehicle as well as a house.  OMG  No surprise that many who voted for 44 want a ‘Kitchen and a Car’ and voted for him to make that happen – plus Obama will ‘make sure there is gas in the tank!’  We heard the exit polls!  Remember?  Also, UPDATE: movement from Mrs 44 and her long awaited agenda - Mrs 44 will be on the cover of Vogue magazine.

We are all surely at the edge of our chairs for her fashion thought leadership.  J Crew? Or perhaps another cardigan sweater and a cotton Donna Reed 1960’s dress again?  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios

Release cash by zero tax deducts for 2 months please!

The lights were on Friday evening on Capitol Hill amazingly enough.  Yes we all were rolling our eyes over 44 sporting his new Air Force One jacket – “spiffy” – is this the best adjective you can use 44?  So vocabulary is just not his strong point it seems.  Friday traditionally has been the day to wrap it up and fly back to the home district.  This stimulus bill has the Hill wired as it should!  However, those of us in the trench every day slugging it out in corporate America and – oh by the way! – paying our taxes, cannot understand why these elected officials cannot connect the dots of the ONLY way to get us peons to release more money into the economy – give us a tax holiday for 2 months.  Yes!  Trust us, if you quit yanking taxes out of our paychecks for 60 days, we’ll spend something for sure!  Now we don’t mind if you continue to yank it out of the company requirements for tax payments – after all, this is about Capitol Hill planning for money to be spent in the consumer segment! For sure, in the backoffice, the IRS will have to shift some money from one pocket to the other since zero will be coming in from our paychecks.  But I am sure they can figure it all out.  Just give us tax freedom for 2 months!!!  As we all now understand, the greatest Ponzi scheme of all is the Social Security fund.  The joke being the word ‘Security’ LOL  Any person today in their late 50’s is aware for sure that he / she will have ZERO Social Security money coming at age 70 – or whatever age – 75? – as they jack up the new age to qualify – OMG! -  It seems we’ll all be working until death do us part from the IRS.  There will be no Social Security within 5 years.  We know that.  So let’s get real:  halt payroll deducts for withholding and Social Security for 2 months and LET US SPEND!  Can this 2-headed leadership of the so far inept insensitive Tahari-suited-billionaire Pelosi and our vocabulary deficient 44 (did you have to use the verb “screwed” Mr. President?? OMG) keep the backoffice books on that ‘make them spend’ stimulus plan?  What is the real reason Capitol Hill continues to ignore this tax freedom plan to release funds to us peons?  Write your Congressman.  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios

Austin Texas Stimulus List begs for $886K for 36-hole frisbee golf course

Have you viewed the list of ‘”wanna have’s” from stimulus money by the Conference of Mayors – totaling in at $149 billion – yes with a ‘b’ 149 BILLION  OMG  There are oddball items but this is absolutely the winner:  City of Austin (Texas) is requesting a 36-hole Frisbee golf project Austin’s proposal is listed at $886,000 on the lineup of 18,750 projects.  Most of the requests are as expected: roads and sewers.  But not Austin Texas!  And Austin already has 5 public golf courses, so to quote the editorial page of The Austin Statesman: “it was goofy to propose nearly $1 million in federal funds for one more [golf course] since Austin already is the St. Andrews of disc golf.”  ROTFLOL

http://www.statesman.com/opinion/content/editorial/stories/02/05/0205frisbee_edit.html

Of note, Austin is a city proud of its banner t-shirts and bumper stickers proclaiming: “Keep Austin Weird!”  Other cities on the list: Boynton Beach, Florida asks for $4.5 million for butterfly gardens in an “eco park.”  Chula Vista, California asks for $500,000 for a dog park.  Is this what Obama-Pelosi-Santa were expecting on the $900 BILLION “stimulus” list??!!!  OMG  These projects were proclaimed by 44 to be “shovel ready to create jobs around the country.”  Amazing just amazing - yet another disappointment since 44 took the oath – both oaths #1 and #2.  I can just see the glee in the eye of the vendors of sodas and jerky at the park – genuine job stimulus at work for the 44 administration.  Not a massive leap of logic here: visualize the scream on Wheel of Fortune when the contestant bends over to spin the wheel: “Big money!  Big Money!”  Cool  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios

44’s chosen few are above paying taxes

Published by e_liz1a under Life, Living, News, Politics, Taxes Edit This

Are you as flabbergasted over the cabinet selections as I am??  What a washout lineup!  I have always had nightmares about the IRS and not paying my taxes – and then the IRS knocking on my door!  I would NEVER fail to pay my taxes.  And these “chosen” men outright lie and flaunt not paying taxes.  OMG  How about the word “egregious” for this bunch?? So #44 proclaimed change and it just ain’t happening!  Off to a rough start eh!  He has the same re-tread group: tired leaders who over time all surely owe favors on Capitol Hill to one another.  Plus lobbyists!  No “change” there either!

Everyone should view Sen. Tom Coburn’s speech on the roadmap for this costing that this legislature is planning.

I could not be more disappointed in #44.  And yesterday 44 used the verb “screwed” as an educated attorney speaking to the Press Corps – OMG

Tax freedom days ahead - I hope

‘Mornin!  So let’s focus on our possible ‘tax freedom’ days in 2009 – keep thinking positively!  Group think: we can make this a self-prophecy! LOL  I love the proposed idea of 3 months with zero taxes!  Talk about a genuine economic stimulus – amazing for those of us worker bees who slug it out every day at less than 100K!  We already know ‘no raise’ for 2009 – none expected – so this ‘tax freedom’ would be most appreciated.  So mind leap to best seller reading: just finished Robert Wagner’s Pieces of My Heart – great read! Very well written!  “RJ” totally loved Natalie Wood – sigh!  And I also finished George Hamilton’s “Don’t’ Mind If I do!”  If you can, read them both – tons of fun Hollywood gossip!  Get healthy!  Stay healthy!  pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios.
