Happy Tuesday!  Air Force One is about to lift off to carry The Prez to Denver!  He is taking the day to travel over and back as a flair to sign the stimulus onsite in Denver with solar panels as the backdrop as we hear the background story. 

The huge expense of the travel to Denver is WASTE.  So that is some type of CHANGE. 

It’s at least 50,000 plus gallons of fuel to fly there and back plus the security detail –wow!  totally a waste.  44 seems NOT to see the expense HE is creating – whether it is keeping the Oval Office “hot enough to grow orchids” or travel to Chicago for Valentine’s dinner or now a day trip to Denver – AMAZING just AMAZING! 

And 44 thinks he is GREEN?!!!  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios

UPDATE:  44 and his wife flew our United States government Air Force One plus the huge entourage required for travel from Washington DC to O’Hare in Chicago for a long weekend in Chicago featuring a Valentine’s evening dinner at their favorite restaurant in Chicago.

While the press is playing up that they are ‘rooted’ in Chicago, can anyone else consider the expense of flying Air Force One plus the entire security detail and Presidential entourage to Chicago for a weekend for a meal? 

Refresh my memory, wasn’t it 44 just a few months ago, who could not get to Washington DC soon enough?  And had to spend government – TAXPAYER – money to stay at the Hay Adams Hotel?  And now he uses the presidential perks to fly to Chicago for meal?  Where is this going to end!?  This will be a long 4 years if he plans to fly to Chicago for meals on every special occasion. 

While the diners at Table-52 Restaurant were in awe of the Presidential entourage, how about considering the air flights halted due to Air Force One in the airspace?  How many loved ones missed connections due to the Air Force One Valentine fly-in?  With the Presidential motorcade blocking off streets, how many loved ones were kept away or delayed due to his desire to fly in for a meal? 

Ya think 44 even thought of these downstream consequences of his desire for a meal?!  NO!!!!!!!!!!  Why?  Because he still thinks he belongs to Chicago.  He has no insider guidance of what is right and what is not right.  He remains clueless as to what plays in Chicago is soooo not what will play in Washington DC.  I am saddened again of 44 and his wife’s obvious self-centeredness.  Not to say the disappointment around the Beltway that the 44’s chose to jet away due to the apparent lack of desire to learn the ways of their home for the next 4 years to include dining in DC.  It is just another 44 disappointment to me.  Hope every one had a super Valentine’s weekend.  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Even if you are without a significant other today, ya gotta smile and rejoice in a day to celebrate love for one another!  I’ve been giggling over the Fox and Friends Saturday morning show… These are the co-hosts: Clayton Morris, Alisyn Camerota, Dave Briggs and the weather guy Rick Reichmuth.  Over the weeks I know they genuinely laugh at each other’s humor!  It is a refreshing show!  I look forward to them keeping me company over my leisurely morning coffee on the weekends!  Great chemistry! Go Fox!  So today they are chattering about odd Valentine’s Day experiences – too funnie!  Call up your mom and dad or grandmother and tell them you love them sincerely.  Remember, a parent forever loves his / her child not matter what forever!  LOL 

And on to Capitol Hill – are you as disgusted as I am?  What is this “reaching across the aisle” rhetoric?  How about EMPTY RHETORIC!  Again, why do the legislators struggle with the concept of putting money into our pockets?  It is so simple:  halt the payroll tax deductions from our paychecks and WE WILL SPEND!  It is not magic.  Maybe Capitol Hill has only the skill of writing a check – ya think? Maybe they need guidance in backoffice accounting mechanics to make that happen?  Just do it!  Halt the payroll tax deductions!  This stimulus is a joke.  It is NOT and never was destined for the common guy in the trench like you and me.  It is a PAYBACK for the years that 44’s supporters did not get what they wanted. 

Anyone else astounded by the unbridled ecstatic glee in the eyes of the billionaire Pelosi??  Disgusting just disgusting.  You think botox’d Pelosi of the Tahari silk suits understands living paycheck to paycheck?  No!!!!  Ask Pelosi what a gallon of milk costs?  Ask Pelosi what sliced sandwich cheese costs?  You know the answer: clueless.  She is galaxies away from what we do every week on our trip to the grocery. 

Very few if any of those Capitol Hill legislators understand our constant never ending “How much is my check this time?  So, then, can I get the new sewing machine in this check?  Oh… then, in 2 weeks maybe?”  We have to watch the fluctuation price of gas too – note: up 20 cents in the past 2 weeks!  44, are you listening?  We trade off $40 gas for a weekend ride as a mini escape for food and school supplies.  We manage on the level of less than $100 dollars “discretionary income” in a month!!!!!!! 

Please give us that 2 month tax freedom!!!!!!!!  We will spend if you give us a larger check!..Do this and it will happen.  So do a mental re-set and enjoy YOUR Valentine’s Day!  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios.

Ikram Goldman is in the news.  It seems the shop ‘Ikram’ in Chicago is reportedly the ‘gatekeeper’ between fashion and the First Lady.  Well that explains it!    No wonder Mrs 44 is so out of touch with what works in Washington DC.  No surprise:  what works in Chicago for Mrs. Ikram Goldman obviously is not even partially ready for Capitol Hill – no way!  How presumptuous for Ikram to think she could be a single point of contact to plan the wardrobe for the Inaugural from her throne in Chicago.  The NY Times reports that Ikram orchestrated “ALL details” for the inaugural wardrobe end to end.  OMG  The odd lime yellow ragged fabric that was lace but did not appear as such on TV should be blamed not on Isabel Toledo but on Ikram.  And the Jason Wu ragged dirty white ballgown with the totally horrible awkward train is now to be blamed on Ikram.  Thank you for the update!  We are supposed to see Ikram as a “stylist.”  OK – we got it!  Apologies to Jason Wu and  to Idabel Toledo.  Neither of you were supposed tohave any clue about what would work in Washington DC since YOU each were at the mercy of the “GATEKEEPER” to the White house fashion.  This is hysterical!  OMG Neither of you were supposed to know that clothes need to be media tested since Ikram knows it all!  Way too funnie!  So far the clothes are horrible.  Ikram better hire a consultant asap to educate her how cameras work on smooth fabrics.  We cannot look at even one more Mrs 44 outfit with supposedly high couture fabric that photographs as a rag.  Or another Donna Reed cotton day shirtdress with a gathered waist.  OMG  And how about those $17,000 earrings by Loree Rodkin that Mrs 44 wore?  So how do we see Mrs 44 as ENDORSING designers? Or not?  Were the earrings the first ‘gift’ to Mrs 44?  Let’s make a note to check the  ‘gift’ list that is published.  Remember the little charm bracelet that young daughter Amy Carter was given as a gift?  She supposedly cried that she had to return it.  Ya think Mrs 44 will return those diamond earrings after wearing them to “We Are One” concert?  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios

Great news:  more news coverage for the TAX FREEDOM stimulus!!!  That is, to halt the payroll tax deductions from our meager pay checks with the totally predicted result that we will SPEND!!!  Former Governor Huckebee is talking about it!  Go Huck!  And so is Glenn Beck!  There is sanity out there it seems!  Of course, no attention from 44 since it is not 44’s plan.  So many egos in Washington DC!  44 continues to speak of his “shovel ready” stimulus plans.  So what’s that mean really?  ‘Shovel’ meaning ‘construction’?  Construction plans result in draws that have a lag time of perhaps 12 to 24 months to put actual money out there - - that is, into the wallet of the construction worker  - even with taxes.  OMG  How difficult is it really to connect the dots that a larger paycheck would immediately result in consumer spending?!!  Ya think the marble buildings on Capitol Hill decay the brains of the legislators?  OMG  Why does Capitol Hill and 44 continue to look at projects such as a new lawn for the Jefferson Memorial plus ‘green’ parks for dogs in California?  Remarkably, the only mention by 44 was at the Town Hall in Fort Myers  and all he said was “we are looking at giving you your payroll tax back.”  KISS  Keep it simple sillie!  Just halt the tax deduct!  No need for paperwork to pay it back to us in yet another check issued by the government.  If my check is larger, I will spend.  Statistics report that we are all living paycheck to paycheck – increase the check, it will be spent.  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios
