American Idol judges too critical!

Who else watches American Idol?  It seems the judges this year all criticize the songs selected! OMG  Last night /Wed it seemed over and over Randy, Paula, Simon and the new gal judge continued to complain ‘not your best choice of song’ and ‘didn’t do it for ya Dawg’ and ‘could it have been worse? I think not!, ‘did not show your range man!’and ‘that was too safe a song’ – OMG  Paula has a ‘do’ with her face almost totally engulfed in her hair and odd hair extensions!  Overwhelming hair it is!  I think that the talent this season #8? is great! It does show America’s Talent!  And I like Ryan Secrest too! LOL  Everyone, pace yourself and I’ll do the same.  Adios

O’Hare flights and loved ones delayed due to 44’s Valentine’s dinner in Chicago

UPDATE:  44 and his wife flew our United States government Air Force One plus the huge entourage required for travel from Washington DC to O’Hare in Chicago for a long weekend in Chicago featuring a Valentine’s evening dinner at their favorite restaurant in Chicago.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/02/14/obamas-long-weekend-begin_n_166973.html

While the press is playing up that they are ‘rooted’ in Chicago, can anyone else consider the expense of flying Air Force One plus the entire security detail and Presidential entourage to Chicago for a weekend for a meal?

Refresh my memory, wasn’t it 44 just a few months ago, who could not get to Washington DC soon enough?  And had to spend government – TAXPAYER – money to stay at the Hay Adams Hotel?  And now he uses the presidential perks to fly to Chicago for meal?  Where is this going to end!?  This will be a long 4 years if he plans to fly to Chicago for meals on every special occasion.

While the diners at Table-52 Restaurant were in awe of the Presidential entourage, how about considering the air flights halted due to Air Force One in the airspace?  How many loved ones missed connections due to the Air Force One Valentine fly-in?  With the Presidential motorcade blocking off streets, how many loved ones were kept away or delayed due to his desire to fly in for a meal?

Ya think 44 even thought of these downstream consequences of his desire for a meal?!  NO!!!!!!!!!!  Why?  Because he still thinks he belongs to Chicago.  He has no insider guidance of what is right and what is not right.  He remains clueless as to what plays in Chicago is soooo not what will play in Washington DC.  I am saddened again of 44 and his wife’s obvious self-centeredness.  Not to say the disappointment around the Beltway that the 44’s chose to jet away due to the apparent lack of desire to learn the ways of their home for the next 4 years to include dining in DC.  It is just another 44 disappointment to me.  Hope every one had a super Valentine’s weekend.  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios

Sarah Palin’s red shoes and Rick Perry’s big guns

Governor to Governor:  Alaska Governor Sarah Palin just endorsed Texas Governor Rick Perry.  Palin is endorsing former Texas A&M yell-leader Rick Perry at the expense of the female alternative: Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison.  Girl against girl!  OMG

 http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/02/palin-perry-201.html

Incumbent GPO candidate Rick Perry has already launched his re-bid for 13 months from now.  And the sidebar chatter is a future Perry-Palin national Republican ticket!  OMG  Sarah:  “[Rick] sticks by his guns, and you know how I feel about his guns.”  OMG  Several news reporters altered her statement to ‘…how I feel about guns’  but she actually said: “… how I feel about HIS guns’  And delivered it with a cute smile!  LOL From the gal who can see Russia from her porch!  The truth is way too funny!  And another Palin story:  she gave her red Naughty Monkey campaign shoes to her niece who just did not like the high style, so listed them on eBay – sold for $2025

 http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/nation/bal-te.peopledigest29.10jan29,0,5010867.story

OMG  The anonymous winner will get not only the slightly worn red heels but also an autographed photo of Governor Palin wearing those red heels.  Anyone else laughing at the ‘red shoes’ and a connection to Dorothy’s red shoes in the Wizard of Oz?  Click Click  Let’s go Toto!  LOL  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios.

Sundays with Orange County Hot-wives and Dr. Drew’s Sober Living House-capades

Sunday is the day for me to catch up on re-runs on VH1 of Sober Living and on Bravo, The Housewives of Orange County.  These people are absolutely not living on the same planet I am.  Dr. Drew counseled a handful of folks through Rehab earlier on episodes of VH1 – and now a few are residents of a “sober living home.”

http://www.vh1.com/shows/dyn/sober_house/series.jhtml

In the re-run I caught today, Amber the model made a choice to go to a party to see a long time chum hockey player – of course there would be booze and whatever else.  She said she had “never been with a guy ‘sober’” – OMG!  So she felt compelled to go to the party – we’ll have to see the result in the next episode, but the teaser shows her hitting the vodka ice run at about 1:30am – way past curfew at the sober house.  Stay tuned.  And her new cell phone buddy at the sober house is none other than Andy Dick!  So the Orange County Housewives partying it up in Vegas was no surprise – those gals are extreme very simply – extreme bejeweled clothes, extreme lavish lifestyle – cars and vacations, and extreme relationships with each other.  But they are united in wanting to make a splash on TV!  LOL  Entertainment!  And now on to relax with my Sunday NY Times!  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios

50 years ago: Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper

February 3 - amazing that this is the anniversary of this ‘day that music died’ – the plane crash in Cedar Lake Iowa that killed Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and the Big Bopper, J. P. Richardson.  Waylon Jennings gave his seat on that flight to Richardson, who was running a fever.  Sadly we hear that Waylon Jennings is haunted to this day about that twist of fate.  Fifty years ago today: 1959.  Wished we all could have been at the commemorative concert.

And then Don McLean’s landmark 1971 tune “American Pie” forever identify the tragedy of the Day the Music Died), Buddy Holly was just 22, and he is the shortest-lived artist ever to win a Grammy for lifetime achievement.  Some say Buddy Holly was the model for the Beatles.  So please remember these legends today for just a moment.  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios

Must reads: Chelsea Handler’s and Artie Lange’s Best Sellers

Greetings on a dreary Monday morning!  But it is YOUR morning so go for it!  Today is my book report day for you:  I just finished two best sellers & I recommend BOTH!: Chelsea Handler’s ‘Are you There Vodka?’ – a very funnie read!  She is a blue comedienne and I enjoy her tv show for its unscripted humor!

www.myspace.com/chelseahandler

Her childhood in New Jersey is hysterical!  Go buy it!  Great fun!  And then last night I finished Artie Lange’s ‘Too Fat to Fish’ – do not read this if you are depressed.  Having said that, those of us 10+ years long time fans of Howard Stern and his comedy troupe will enjoy his growing up in New Jersey and his break into stand-up comedy.  I was totally ‘page-turning’ and wrapped around his story – hence, my caveat on beware if you are depressed in any way.  So I also caught him a few weeks ago on the home remodeling channel – he has absolutely let himself go health-wise – was not able to use a hammer even.  And a fabulous shore home in Jersey!  You must live to enjoy it!

www.artie-lange.com/

So Artie, please turn over a new leaf in 2009!  Keep going to Howard’s psychiatrist – professional help is a good thing.  And get  healthy!  Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios.

American fashions for the #44 posse

Excitement in DC!  And Oprah will be the most watched celebrity it seems – no surprise!  Monday she will broadcast from the Kennedy Center – wow!  And Wednesday she’ll be live at Art & Soul cafe in DC.  Of course Tuesday is the swearing in – bets are on for who gets the photo of her crying at this event or at the Inauguration – my money is on TMZ.  TMZ is everywhere!  And the remote camera guys have such a sense of humor despite their hours on end waiting for celebs – mind numbing ya think?  So it will not be long til we see the gorgeous gowns – the Illinois Inaugural Ball is Monday eve – we’ll learn the designers favored by #44’s family – him and all 3 gals.  Better be American designers!!!  And we better see our fabulous Judith Leiber clutch purses: she’s a hugely talented Hungarian who married a US Army guy after WW2: America is so fortunate to call her ours!  We all would love to see those bejeweled clutches held by Mrs #44!  Watch those fashions on TV!  Pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios.

Inaugural Nite Plans in DC

Published by e_liz1a under Entertainment, Living Edit This

Washington DC is where the action is this week for sure for celebrity stargazing!  All the Obama supporters are in town for the hundreds of private parties and balls – so exciting!  But we’re hearing that the bridges and the subway amazingly enough will be closed once the festivities begin for the Inaugural Balls starting Monday eve 19January and running through Tuesday eve the 20th – no more time traveling to multiple events thru the evening to see the beautiful people!  We have enjoyed that in past years - grid lock but manageable!  With all the Hollywood stars in town, we’ll see the happenings on TV!  So we’re sitting this Inaugural out at home.  And we’re sure the commemorative pins and coffee mugs will be for sale for 8 years – no hurry for the moment to be in the expected millions in DC for that purchase!  So everyone, get healthy!  Stay healthy!  pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios.

Katie Couric copies Suzie Orman’s hairdo

‘Mornin!  What do you think of  Katie Couric’s copying the Suzie Orman lookalike hairdo?  Katie seems always to have struggled with her identity –tough interviewer? Softball interviewer? Pretty girl anchor? Single mother?  No need to go on…  So why would someone like Katie not be confident of herself to have her own ‘do?  Suzie Orman is perfectly comfortable with herself – it’s obvious and she shows it!  She is sincere about her lifestyle and her gorgeous clothes and hairstyle are totally in sync with her personna – you go Suzie!  So Katie, for 2009, please think about YOU!  We all have our own worth and our identity is our own.  There is no other ‘you’ on this earth.  Enjoy being YOU!  So everyone, get healthy!  Stay healthy!  pace yourself and I will do same.  Adios
