Obama calls DC ‘wimps’ in snow cleanup
Good morning! Seems as if the whole country is blanketed with ice and snow – stay warm! Mrs. 44 had her 45th birthday in the White House. Happy Birthday Michelle!

She appeared at the surprise event in a black t-shirt, charcoal gray slacks, pearl button earrings, and, please stay seated, her hair totally not ready for prime time pulled back in a sloppy bun with a rubber band. OMG Concurrently, The Prez was telling his cabinet that Sidwell Friends School gave his two daughters a ‘snow day’ to remain at home due to the ice and snow. Predictably, our 44 slammed DC and its lack of preparedness and inferred lack of ability to handle a snowstorm that Chicago would not have broken stride in any way with business as usual.

So once again, Team 44 is not aware of the DC environment. I lived in DC for over 10 years - it is true that a mentality takes over when the first snowflakes fall – even at the Pentagon. I have also lived in Chicago and Boston and Manhattan. Correct: DC halts work and any normal business event due to snow. It is what it is. The government workers take days off, and the schools take off as many days as needed that are actually planned in the school calendar very simply. Everyone is safe. I risked my life and that of my husband one horrible icy morning to travel to the Pentagon to my job. At 6:30am, we passed a car that had just flipped over on the treacherous 2-lane road 123 as we headed north on that memorable dark icy morning. But I had a nasty boss, and there was zero tolerance for contractors being out for any reason on the HQ Army contract – so off we went. Yes, this behavior toward female professionals was also exhibited when I asked to take off early to get married one Friday – not permitted. So let’s hope the Obamas get with the program in DC and stop these Chicago references and Chicago mentality. Please try to get along and accept the DC environment. We all want that Kumbaya that you speak of always. Everyone, pace yourself and I will do same. Adios
